Stretching nearly 4,200 kilometres, the Niger River flows through nine countries and provides a vital resource for nearly 180 million people. Amid the challenges of climate change, water security and regional cooperation, the Niger Basin Authority plays a central role in the joint management of this shared resource. At its helm since July 2025, our guest is leading a new roadmap focused on water governance, climate adaptation and stronger cooperation among member states.
