Casablanca, Morocco’s economic and industrial heart, is a modern and dynamic metropolis that combines urban growth, historical richness, and key infrastructure. To support this development and enhance its attractiveness, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has launched an ambitious railway program. This strategic plan, aimed at improving mobility and the industrial ecosystem, reflects the Kingdom’s ambition to make Casablanca a truly innovative city.
The economic and industrial capital of Morocco, Casablanca is a dynamic metropolis covering 384 km² and home to 5 million inhabitants. Located on the Atlantic coast, it is a crossroads where modernity blends with a rich historical heritage. A true national economic engine and a major regional logistics hub, Casablanca stands out for its urban vibrancy and contemporary infrastructure, reflected in its skyscrapers and strategic port. Its strong cultural identity and architectural heritage coexist harmoniously with its role as a rapidly growing metropolis, as seen in the lively atmosphere of its Corniche.
“At first, it was normal, but we have noticed a major change. The Corniche now reveals all its beauty, with a magnificent landscape and an even more pleasant atmosphere.”

As part of a national plan worth 96 billion dirhams, on September 24, 2025, His Majesty King Mohammed VI launched in Casablanca—a key economic and industrial hub—a railway program valued at 20 billion dirhams. This project modernizes urban and regional mobility with three multimodal stations, ten local stations, and 92 km of railway lines, offering a train every 7.5 minutes through the acquisition of 48 trains with a capacity of 1,000 passengers each.
The King officially inaugurated the new local lines serving the Casablanca region. This ambitious project, focused on the Mohammedia–Nouaceur axis, includes the deployment of suburban trains and involves major infrastructure works. These works include the addition of 260 kilometers of railway tracks, the construction of new local and major stations, as well as the creation of maintenance facilities.
