Zimbabwe: annual inflation reaches 47.6%

Zimbabwe’s annual inflation reached 47.6% month-on-month, reported the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (Zimstat). Data presented on March 1, 2024, showed that the annual inflation rate for February 2024, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all items, was 47.6%. This latest rise is the fourth in a row since the statistics agency modified its price indicator on September 28, 2023, to better reflect the use of the US dollar in the economy. The greenback is used in around 80% of transactions in the country.
