Zambia’s Minister of Finance and National Planning revealed on Sunday, January 5, 2025, that the country allocated more than 90% of its monthly budget to debt servicing in December 2024. In fact, the treasury released 12.7 billion Kwacha for domestic and foreign service, i.e. 55% of the 23.7 billion Kwacha allocated to public expenditure during the month.
