Liberia : the mandate of the Office of the War Crimes Tribunal extended until April 30

President Joseph Boakai has extended by one year the mandate of the Office responsible for preparing the establishment of a special war crimes tribunal and an anti-corruption court, now set to run until April 30, 2027. This body, established in 2024, will be tasked with mobilizing funding, supporting Parliament in adopting the already submitted legislation, and defining the operational frameworks of the two courts, with an annual budget of $2 million and strict deadlines for their implementation.
